World History Summer Assignment

- Politics and the Ancient Greek City State
- The Roman Republic and Democracy
· Answer corresponding questions.
In World History we will explore the history of the Western World. The course begins with a brief background in Greek and Roman traditions, followed by a exploration of the Middle Ages. In depth coverage includes the Renaissance, Reformation, the Scientific Revolution, Enlightenment, and the American and French Revolutions. Semester two encompasses the Industrial Revolution, the Age of Imperialism, World War I, the Russian Revolution, World War II and the Holocaust, the Cold War and the struggles for liberation in the modern world.
The summer assignment will introduce you to our first unit of study, which will explore the ancient Greek and Roman civilizations.
The reading and questions can be found below.
Assignment will be submitted at the first class meeting of the semester in August.
